some new pictures

the other day i had to do a little trimming on my japanese maple tree – but i didn’t want to let the leaves go to waste. so of course they’d become props for my latest photo-shoot!

i had intended to originally use my xiang prototype for these pictures, but difficulties with her head cap led me to scrap that idea and instead out came kame. she’s often my fall-back when i can’t figure out who to photograph, and for good reason – she’s really inspiring and photogenic!

i know, i know….

i’m nearly 2 weeks late with this post…. but the last few weeks have been chaotic at best.

and if things continue to go this way, i may be posting even less as i’ll be looking for a part time job.

but in the meantime, here’s some pics of plague:

a little late ~

yesterday was july 7th, which is tanabata in japan.

i took some pics of plague and pestilence, since they’re my only set of lovers currently, but i ran out of steam to get them posted up. why, you might ask? because yesterday also marked the first day of the month long showing of some of my photo prints at the spritely bean cafe here in portland, oregon. i also had to work on getting things together to travel down to petaluma, california next week for another show at the petaluma arts center. i know – my first actual shows and i have two in the same month! i’m pretty excited, nervous, and exhausted by it all.

not only that, but i’ve been working on getting a patreon page up and running to help support my art. so all in all, while here i’ve just been rather quiet and throwing random images up on the blog, i’ve been quite busy the last few weeks trying to get a bunch of things ready.

anyway – on to some new pics!

a couple of random pics

not really related to much…

but i finished up the outfit for the nekomata for an upcoming show at the petaluma arts center. he and the kitsune will both be there, and i’m excited and nervous about it. anyway – to celebrate his completion, of course i had to take pics ^^

the second set are with kame – i know, i know, she has more photos than any of my other dolls… but i really love how she photographs!

i've been drawing for as long as i could hold a pencil and art became my first language. though i've only been sculpting since 2007, i fell in love with the idea of being able to bring my drawings to life. i am heavily inspired by medieval macabre artwork, japanese yokai, and oddly enough, sherlock holmes. currently i'm living just south of beautiful portland oregon ^^
