as you may remember, i was working on my own little spiderling goddess (amaterasu) and what does one of my favorite doll companies (doll chateau) release today?

but their own freaking amazing spider!!!!! check her out!

of course i have to get my hands on her, but it puts me to shame! (yes yes, i know my spiderling is different from theirs, but still! )

i guess if i had nothing to do but sculpt dolls i could do amazing things too, but some of us have money problems to worry about ><#

and i know i promised pictures of the drawings i’m working on, but i still haven’t gotten that great of a pic yet…

but here are some crappy ones instead ^^

i know i’ve been quiet….

but we’re in the process of closing on a house and getting ready to move at the beginning of january – so all my sculpting things have been packed away.

in the meantime, i’ve been working on my drawings and plan on adding a picture later on (i took one to show my mom but it’s not that great…)

i’ve got a couple different ideas for sets of drawings, though the one right now i’ve called “alice and her pets” – it’s going to be a series of lolita girls with unusual animals. currently i have in the works a lamprey, a shoebill stork, and a warthog. i have a sketch that’s with an octopus (which ironically is the one that started this whole idea) but i’m thinking of changing it to an aye-aye because i feel like maybe an octopus has been overdone? not to say they’re not cool creatures, but i want to do animals that are considered by most to be grotesque and i don’t think the octopus fits in that category any more.

i do still plan on working on my own dolls, but it’s just going to have to wait until after the move, as much as that pains me! but who knows, maybe by then i’ll have sketched out some more ideas to work on… like an actual male head! O_O

i've been drawing for as long as i could hold a pencil and art became my first language. though i've only been sculpting since 2007, i fell in love with the idea of being able to bring my drawings to life. i am heavily inspired by medieval macabre artwork, japanese yokai, and oddly enough, sherlock holmes. currently i'm living just south of beautiful portland oregon ^^
