sorry, no pics….

i have been super busy with life and selling off a lot of my collection – not to mention that now we’re down to like…. 4 hours of usable sunlight, and most of the time it’s cloudy…

but i did want to pop in and say that i have all but 3 pieces being molded right now (i got the first batch poured and almost done curing so i can get the second half of them ready, and the second batch was just now poured)

watching lots of “horror” movies with my roommate right now so i’ve been able to work on them – we both love b-rated old horror movies and it seems like the right time of year to pull out our collection. (that and until amazon ships out my order, we’ve run out of teenage mutant ninja turtles to watch….. )

but if all goes well – i can snag some pics tomorrow or tuesday of at least the molds, not that they’re much to look at…. and i’m still trying to figure out how to get our new printer/scanner to scan stuff to my computer…. the instructions aren’t very clear…..

guess what!

i’ve been able to conquer all the trouble that murphy sent my way and have gotten most of the pieces ready to mold! (it will still take me another day or two to get them fully ready to be poured, but my roommate has kindly offered to help ^^ )

i don’t have pictures right now – but i’ll try to take some right before i pour to show that they are, indeed, all ready!

i’m also going to try and figure out our new printer/scanner so i can scan some of my newest sketches. i’m also looking through some extinct animals (dinosaurs, birds, and mammals) for a potential line of sculpts.

as it is right now, i’ve got like 3 lines right now – animals (extant), japanese demons (with possible expansion into other mythologies) , and “normal” – these being just plain ol’ humans like pierrot and jean-pierre. if i do the extinct animals, that would give me four lines to play with…

i already have a feathered utahraptor inspired girl in the planning stages, and having recently watched a show on terror birds, i’m tempted to make one as well…. and maybe a bear-dog…. and i’ve always been fascinated by dodos (see, i’ve got so many ideas that could fit into a line of their own! )

at least i know i’ll never run out of ideas, lol!

sorry for the lies and the trouble

but at this point, i think i’ll be happy if i just end up with a fully cast doll by the end of the YEAR.

one of our beloved cats ended up having an emergency vet visit (and needing to stay w/ two different vets over 2 days) and so all my money and energy has been focused on making him feel better. luckily it was caught in time and he’s expected to recover fully (which is great, because bug is probably one of the best cats you could ever hope for) – but this on top of some other bad news i received about a very important family member has just about killed me this weekend.

i haven’t really even had the energy to eat let alone sculpt, but i’m going to try and do something this afternoon.

just when i thought murphy was leaving me along, i get hit with several major blows, one right after another….

about

i've been drawing for as long as i could hold a pencil and art became my first language. though i've only been sculpting since 2007, i fell in love with the idea of being able to bring my drawings to life. i am heavily inspired by medieval macabre artwork, japanese yokai, and oddly enough, sherlock holmes. currently i'm living just south of beautiful portland oregon ^^
