i really need to stop putting off updates…

June 26th, 2011 by _d2_

that way they don’t end up as these huge blocks of pictures….

however, here are a couple of random things updated in the breaks of packing for my move in two weeks -

first off, one of basil’s knees/legs is completed! the other one is about 90% done

then here is some pictures of noir so far – i’ve had to start her hands. yet again. but this time in milliput as the paperclay kept breaking.

then there’s this new head i started using my lovely female ferret as inspiration. my ferret’s name is saru (as in monkey in japanese – she loves to climb all over EVERYTHING)

and lastly – my new work station! i got it to hep keep things a bit more organized, but i still don’t have *quite* enough space…. oh well…

belated pictures….

but here are the tests casts of xolotl, cooper, and pierrot’s heads.

as you can see, they’re very rough and dirty…. the molds weren’t as clean as i wanted…. but these are the tests!

10 days, no post….

no, i haven’t been doing nothing – i just haven’t taken any pictures or written any updates.

i’ve done the first casts of xololt, pierrot, and cooper’s heads and they turned out pretty well. i also cast the bust, xolotl’s ears, and feet – though only one foot turned out. i’ve got molds for venus’ head and some more body parts for my mini girls started as well. if i’m lucky enough to remember, i’ll take more pictures this weekend to show off what i’ve done.

update on noir -

June 5th, 2011 by _d2_

it’s been horribly hot lately so i haven’t had much progress, but today it cooled off by raining and i’m getting ready to pour more molds of xolotl and start on hollow’s molds.

but since i could do molding and what not, i’ve been working on noir and she’s turned out a lot different than my sketches…. but i’m loving her short dumpy self!

and here she is next to hollow, her sister, and pip – sorry the picture is so dark!

about

i've been drawing for as long as i could hold a pencil and art became my first language. though i've only been sculpting since 2007, i fell in love with the idea of being able to bring my drawings to life. i am heavily inspired by medieval macabre artwork, japanese yokai, and oddly enough, sherlock holmes. currently i'm living just south of beautiful portland oregon ^^
