you only thought i was gone!¬†¬†well – i’ve gotten more done on cooper – to the point where he’s fully cast in resin (though his second leg and left hand are in the process of being cast) and now it’s time for the clean up work! (including resculpting feet i fear…)

yeah, i’ve been being bad. really bad.i haven’t worked on cooper or xolotl lately (though i plan on working on xolotl’s leg more later today)instead, i’ve been working on my new 65cm girl. i’ve tentatively named her venus because i’m using the greco-roman statues as influence for the body type (i plan on doing the same with the 65cm boy i want to do as well) – it’s a challenge for me because i draw and like skinny people, so to do a fully fleshed out person is interesting.of course, her body is just roughed in right now, it still needs to be sanded and refined, as well as split apart. my mom and i agreed to each try and sculpt a doll that could move like a contortionist, so i’ve changed the joint plan slightly from my previous sketches. she will have a 4 part torso, not including the neck (so really it will be 5 pieces) but hopefully i can get them to all move and look nice together.here are some quick pictures of her as she is now – the head is the one i had done when my mom was practicing what she was going to teach at her class and still doesn’t have ears ><;;;;; (yeah, i should get on that eventually…. though i’m tempted to give her robot ears as something easy to do ^^;;; )and with cooper worm! (okay okay, he does have arms and legs i just haven’t strung them yet – and his hands are still in the process of being molded and i have to sculpt him completely new feet… i might sculpt him animal feet since i’m having problems with human ones… )

about

i've been drawing for as long as i could hold a pencil and art became my first language. though i've only been sculpting since 2007, i fell in love with the idea of being able to bring my drawings to life. i am heavily inspired by medieval macabre artwork, japanese yokai, and oddly enough, sherlock holmes. currently i'm living just south of beautiful portland oregon ^^
