i am being so bad about keeping this thing updated… i’ve worked some more on imogen (mostly her legs) but she probably won’t be done for awhile (maybe end of may at the earliest)however, the good news is that i am pushing forward with molding pierrot (and beatrix’s head plate) and if i’m lucky, i’ll have them all done by friday so i can do my first full resin cast of her saturday! it’s so exciting! after i have her body cast i’m going to try making one of my sketches – – and then work my way down and if some of them are successful (like a white version of the gothic rabbit from alice in wonderland) then i’ll offer them up for sale. (on top of doing small batches of the basic plates for sale each month)

eep – i butchered her ;)

pierrot got some new leg joints (and i’m in the process of working on her arm joints) while i take a break from molding (because it seems i’m allergic to the molding compound ^^;;;;; )her posing in a lot better now (yay!) and i think the line of the joint is still elegant -new jointsnew jointsnew jointstro-chan’s also been working on her own doll (sweetpea) using my faceplate system as a base for her head and had me take pictures today – while doing so i decided to take a picture of her head with all of mine -face platesbut i’ve got some time off from school so i hope to get pierrot finished modded and at least 75% molded as i hope to get a cast of her by the end of the first week of april.

out of the 5 molds i’ve done so far – only 1 has worked… i feel like i’m wasting molding material with how much i’m failing… however, my mom is keeping me going and i still hope to have a full set of molds for pierrot done by the end of the month (it is, after all, only the 4th) — i have learned a lot from the failed molds, it’s just disheartening…. but i’m also keeping myself busy by working on imogen as well as a special head for my mom(as a thank you for helping me on pierrot as well as for her birthday in april)  i think the best thing i’ve learned right now is to just keep busy - if one part isn’t working out, put it aside and work on another and another and come back to it later… <shifty eyes> of course, i’ve also been playing video games (yay daxter!) and making brooches for my other dolls (and possibly for sale)

i've been drawing for as long as i could hold a pencil and art became my first language. though i've only been sculpting since 2007, i fell in love with the idea of being able to bring my drawings to life. i am heavily inspired by medieval macabre artwork, japanese yokai, and oddly enough, sherlock holmes. currently i'm living just south of beautiful portland oregon ^^
